Where it came from
The Dig 'Em Frog character was introduced by Kellogg's in 1972 as the mascot for the Honey Smacks cereal, succeeding a series of previous mascots like the Smackin' Brothers. Designed to appeal to a younger demographic through a cool, confident persona, the frog became an iconic figure in American cereal advertising, often featured in television spots promoting the high-energy nature of the breakfast product.
This Funko Pop! figure, numbered 230 in the Ad Icons series, was produced as part of Funko's initiative to honor classic corporate mascots that hold a place in pop culture history. The design captures the character's signature wide grin and baseball cap, reflecting the nostalgic branding that has maintained the mascot's relevance for decades since its debut.
