Where it came from
Released as part of the Pop! Movies line in 2015, this figure commemorates Emmett 'Doc' Brown as he appeared in Back to the Future Part II. The design captures the character's eccentric 2015-era ensemble, featuring his metallic silver tie, futuristic visor, and iconic yellow duster coat. It was produced to coincide with the milestone 30th anniversary of the franchise, tapping into the enduring cultural nostalgia surrounding the film's vision of the future.
The figure reflects Funko's signature aesthetic, characterized by oversized heads and minimalist features, which became a global phenomenon during the mid-2010s. By distilling the complex, layered costume design of the film into a simplified vinyl form, the designers aimed to make the character instantly recognizable to fans of the trilogy. It remains a staple for collectors of cinematic memorabilia, serving as a playful tribute to a cornerstone of 1980s science fiction cinema.
