Where it came from
Released as part of the Funko Pop! Animation line, this figure captures Ed and her partner Ein from the landmark 1998 anime series Cowboy Bebop. The character design stays true to the show's aesthetic, depicting the eccentric computer hacker Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Tivruski IV sitting alongside her Welsh Corgi, Ein. The figure was produced to celebrate the enduring legacy of the series, which remains widely regarded for its blend of space western, jazz-influenced music, and deep character development.
The figure reflects the collaborative spirit of the show's original production, where creator Shinichiro Watanabe and his team designed characters that felt grounded yet distinct within a stylized future. Funko’s interpretation leans into the playful energy of the duo, focusing on Ed's characteristic pose and Ein's steady demeanor. Upon release, the figure was well-received by the animation community as a tribute to one of the most beloved pairings in contemporary anime history.
