Provenance

Where it came from

Released as an exclusive for New York Comic Con, this Pop! Icons figure depicts the legendary 19th-century American writer Edgar Allan Poe. As part of the broader Pop! Icons series, the figure aims to immortalize figures of historical and literary significance in the signature Funko aesthetic. The design features Poe holding a book, a nod to his enduring legacy as a pioneer of the short story and the macabre genre.

The figure was produced to celebrate Poe's profound cultural impact, reflecting a trend of manufacturers creating collectibles for fans of classic literature and academic history. The design emphasizes his iconic mustache and somber appearance, characteristic of his historical portraits. While these event-exclusive releases are primarily targeted at avid collectors and fans of the author, the design was received as a recognizable, stylized representation of one of literature's most enigmatic figures.
