El Diablito

El Diablito, or 'The Little Devil,' is part of the Pop! Board Games series, released as a tribute to the iconic Mexican game of chance, Lotería. The figure represents card number two from the traditional deck, a staple of Mexican culture that functions similarly to bingo but uses evocative, illustrated imagery rather than numbers. This Pop! iteration translates the classic, often whimsical, artistic style of vintage Lotería decks into Funko’s signature stylized vinyl form, capturing the character’s hallmark pitchfork and mischievous expression.

The figure was produced to celebrate the cultural legacy of Lotería, which has evolved from its origins in 18th-century Italy to become a deep-seated tradition in Latin American households. By including characters like El Diablito, Funko sought to bridge the gap between traditional folk games and contemporary collectible toy culture. The design focuses on maintaining the recognizability of the original illustration while adhering to the standard Pop! aesthetic, reflecting a broader effort by the company to diversify its catalog with international cultural touchstones.
