Provenance

Where it came from

Released in 2021 as part of the Funko Pop! Icons series, this special edition figure commemorates the 40th anniversary of Elvira, Mistress of the Dark. The item was designed to honor Cassandra Peterson’s iconic horror hostess persona, utilizing a blacklight-reactive finish to evoke the neon-drenched aesthetic of 1980s midnight movies and retro poster art.

The figure features Elvira in her signature velvet-style black gown, reimagined with vibrant, high-contrast pigments that glow under ultraviolet light. This design choice was intended to capture the campy, supernatural flair of her television specials. Upon its release, the piece was received as a nostalgic collector’s item that bridged the gap between vintage horror memorabilia and modern vinyl toy culture.
