Where it came from
Released as part of the Star Wars Pop! collection in 2023, the Encounter on Endor figure commemorates the climactic moments of Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi. Designed as a Movie Moments piece, it captures the interaction between Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader on the second Death Star. This item emerged from Funko's initiative to highlight iconic cinematic scenes rather than individual characters, aiming to provide a diorama-style representation of pivotal narrative turns for franchise fans.
The design team at Funko focused on recreating the tense atmospheric showdown between father and son, utilizing the signature oversized head and simplified aesthetic typical of the Pop! line. By positioning the figures within a stylized base meant to evoke the Emperor's throne room, the designers prioritized recognizable character poses over hyper-realistic detail. The figure was generally well-received by the Star Wars collecting community as a nostalgic tribute to one of the most significant confrontations in the original trilogy.
