Where it came from
The Baby Nippet Pop! figure was released as part of the Funko Pop! Star Wars line to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi. The design captures a member of the Ewok species, specifically focusing on the smaller, juvenile iterations seen living in the forest moon of Endor. Funko utilized its signature flocked texture for this release, a specialized manufacturing process that applies fine fibers to the vinyl surface to mimic the appearance of fur.
Funko’s design team aimed to balance the stylized, oversized-head aesthetic of the Pop! brand with the distinct physical characteristics of the Star Wars creatures. By opting for a flocked finish rather than standard smooth vinyl, the creators sought to provide a tactile experience that distinguished the figure from other releases in the collection. The piece was well-received by Star Wars completists who prioritize creature figures and those who value the varied material textures often used in specialty Funko releases.
