Where it came from
Erend, the Vanguardsman of the Oseram tribe, was released by Funko in 2017 as part of the Pop! Games series, numbered 258. The figure was produced to coincide with the release of Guerrilla Games' critically acclaimed title, Horizon Zero Dawn, which introduced players to a post-apocalyptic world dominated by colossal machines. The character serves as a primary ally to the protagonist, Aloy, representing the industrious and mechanically inclined Oseram culture.
The design of the figure captures Erend’s signature aesthetic, featuring his rugged tribal armor and the bulky, heavy-duty appearance characteristic of Oseram smiths. The sculpt emphasizes his distinct hairstyle and the practical, worn look of his gear, aiming to translate his in-game model into the iconic Funko aesthetic. Upon its release, the figure was well-received by fans of the franchise as a faithful representation of a central supporting character in the Horizon series.
