Where it came from
Aloy, the protagonist of the 2017 action role-playing game Horizon Zero Dawn, was immortalized as Funko Pop number 257 in the Games series. Released shortly after the game's critically acclaimed launch, the figure captures the character's distinct appearance, including her signature Nora Brave outfit, tribal braids, and the Focus device worn on her temple. The design aims to translate the detailed, gritty aesthetic of Guerrilla Games' post-apocalyptic vision into the recognizable, simplified silhouette of a Funko collectible.
The figure emerged during a period of significant growth for the Pop! Games line, as Funko expanded its partnership with major developers to reach gaming audiences. The stylized representation of Aloy was received as a faithful homage to a breakout new character in the gaming industry, celebrated for her complex narrative arc and technical innovation. By shrinking the expansive world of Horizon into a 3.75-inch vinyl format, the figure serves as a tangible memento of the title's impact on contemporary science fiction storytelling.
