Where it came from
Falling Alice, numbered 1065 in the Pop! Disney series, was released by Funko to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the 1951 animated classic Alice in Wonderland. The design captures the iconic sequence of Alice tumbling down the rabbit hole, utilizing a translucent, swirling base to simulate the sensation of falling through the surreal architecture of the story. It serves as a stylized departure from the standard standing figurines, focusing instead on a kinetic moment of the film's narrative.
The figure reflects the broader design language of the Pop! line, which emphasizes oversized heads and simplified, expressive features. By isolating the moment Alice enters Wonderland, the designers sought to evoke the disorientation and whimsy central to Lewis Carroll's original source material. Upon its release, it was received as a nostalgic collectible for fans of the Disney animation vault, particularly those interested in dynamic poses that break away from traditional static character displays.
