Ghost Rider (Metallic) [2013 SDCC]

The Metallic Ghost Rider figure was released as a 2013 San Diego Comic-Con exclusive, serving as a limited-edition variant of the original Ghost Rider Pop released earlier that year as part of the Marvel Universe Series 2 collection. The figure was produced during a period when Funko was rapidly expanding its presence at major conventions, utilizing exclusive paint applications like this metallic finish to drive interest and distinguish convention-specific merchandise from standard retail offerings.

The design of the figure translates the iconic comic book character into the signature Funko aesthetic, featuring the character’s flaming skull set atop a biker-style leather jacket. The metallic paint application was intended to give the figure a more premium, reflective quality that contrasted with the matte finish of the base version. Because it was tied to the 2013 convention circuit, the item became a highly sought-after piece for collectors focusing on early Marvel Pop exclusives, marking a significant milestone in the secondary market growth of the Marvel line.
