Grape Ape

Grape Ape debuted in 1975 as the titular protagonist of The Great Grape Ape Show, an animated series produced by Hanna-Barbera. Created by Tom Ruegger and designed by legendary animator Iwao Takamoto, the character was conceived as a lighthearted, gentle giant—a 40-foot-tall purple gorilla with a surprisingly high-pitched voice who traveled the country with his canine companion, Beegle Beagle.
