Grooberson

Gary Grooberson, introduced as a central character in the Ghostbusters franchise starting with Ghostbusters: Afterlife, was designed as a modern successor to the original film's ensemble cast. Portrayed by Paul Rudd, the character functions as both a seismologist and a summer school teacher, bringing a relatable, grounded energy to the supernatural events of the films. This Pop! figure captures his appearance from the 2024 sequel, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, maintaining the signature aesthetic of the Funko Pop! line with its stylized oversized head and minimalist features.

Funko released this figure as part of the broader promotional campaign for Frozen Empire. The design team focused on incorporating the character's casual, scholarly attire, reflecting his evolution from a curious observer to a core member of the team. As with much of the Ghostbusters merchandise line, the figure serves to bridge the gap between legacy fans of the 1980s films and a new generation of viewers introduced to the franchise through Rudd's comedic and warm performance.
