Happy Gilmore (Hockey Stick Putter)

The Happy Gilmore Pop! figure, numbered 978 in the Movies series, was released by Funko to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the 1996 cult classic sports comedy. The film, which stars Adam Sandler as a failed hockey player who discovers a unique talent for golf, became a defining entry in 1990s comedic cinema. This specific design features Happy Gilmore wielding his unconventional hockey-stick putter, a central visual gag that represents the protagonist's clash with the stuffy traditions of the professional golf circuit.

Funko’s design team leaned into the character's distinct aesthetic, prioritizing the specific posture and makeshift equipment that fans associate with the movie's climax. The figure was met with positive reception from collectors who appreciated the nod to the film’s status as a staple of comedy nostalgia. As part of a broader expansion of Funko’s sports and comedy lines, the figure serves as a piece of memorabilia that bridges the gap between hockey culture and the world of golf, reflecting the humorous, outsider nature of the character itself.
