Hello Kitty (Classic) (Pink) (Flocked)

Hello Kitty was originally created by Yuko Shimizu for Sanrio in 1974, debuting as a decorative character on a small vinyl coin purse. Her design, characterized by a lack of a mouth to encourage universal emotional projection, quickly became a global cultural phenomenon. By the time Funko introduced this flocked Pop! figure as part of their Sanrio line, the character had already spent decades evolving from a stationery motif into a symbol of 'kawaii' culture that transcends age and geography.

This specific figure, numbered 28 within the Sanrio series, utilizes a flocked finish to give the surface a velvet-like, textured feel. Funko often releases flocked variants of their popular Pop! figures to offer collectors a tactile contrast to the standard smooth vinyl surface. This iteration was received as a nostalgic collectible, appealing to long-time fans of the character who value the specific aesthetic qualities of the Sanrio franchise translated into the standardized, large-headed format of the Pop! line.
