Where it came from
Released as part of the Care Bears 40th Anniversary collection in 2022, the Hopeful Heart Bear figure celebrates the enduring legacy of the franchise originally created by American Greetings in the early 1980s. This specific Pop! figure was designed to commemorate the character's optimistic spirit, featuring the iconic heart-shaped icon on its belly, and was released as a chase variant with glow-in-the-dark properties to appeal to dedicated collectors.
The figure was conceptualized by the Funko creative team to align with the distinct aesthetic of the Animation series, emphasizing the stylized proportions and vibrant color palettes associated with the Care Bears brand. Upon its release, the chase variant became a sought-after piece for enthusiasts of both the Funko Pop! ecosystem and nostalgia-driven memorabilia, serving as a modern homage to the 1980s cartoon aesthetic.
