Huang Zhong

Huang Zhong is part of the Pop! Asia series, which Funko launched to explore and honor cultural icons, folklore, and historical figures from Asian markets. This figure depicts the legendary general from the 'Romance of the Three Kingdoms', a 14th-century historical novel that remains one of the most significant literary works in East Asian history. Released as part of a collection celebrating these storied warriors, the figure was designed to translate the classic, rugged aesthetics of the elderly archer into the stylized, large-headed vinyl format characteristic of the Funko brand.

The design emphasizes Huang Zhong's identity as a master marksman, featuring his signature bow and traditional period-appropriate armor. By simplifying his intricate historical regalia into the distinct Pop! aesthetic, Funko aimed to make a venerable literary character accessible to a contemporary global audience. The piece was well-received by collectors who specialize in historical and literary-themed figures, serving as a bridge between high-concept historical fiction and the accessible hobby of vinyl toy collecting.
