Where it came from
Hyacinth Hippo debuted as part of the Funko Pop! Disney series, specifically commemorating the 80th anniversary of the 1940 film Fantasia. She represents the iconic Dance of the Hours segment, featuring the graceful and whimsical hippopotamus ballerina who has become an enduring symbol of the film's playful blend of classical music and animation.
The figure design captures Hyacinth in her signature tutu and pointe shoes, maintaining the aesthetic standards of the Funko Pop! line by simplifying her substantial form into the characteristic oversized-head style. As a figure within the Disney collection, it was aimed at both nostalgia-driven adult collectors and fans of classic animation, receiving a positive reception for its faithful, colorful rendering of a beloved, less-represented character from the Disney archives.
