Ken Dia De Muertos

The Ken Día de Muertos Funko Pop was released as part of a special collection celebrating the traditional Mexican holiday, drawing heavy design inspiration from Mattel’s own Día de Muertos Barbie series. The figure depicts Ken dressed in a refined charro-inspired ensemble, complete with intricate sugar skull face paint, known as catrín styling, which serves as a respectful nod to the cultural heritage and celebratory nature of the festival.

Designed within the signature Funko Pop aesthetic—characterized by oversized heads and simplified, stylized features—this figure aims to balance the whimsical nature of the brand with the dignified iconography associated with the holiday. It arrived as part of a broader trend by Funko to integrate pop culture icons into heritage-based seasonal releases, and it was generally well-received by collectors who appreciate the detailed thematic paint applications and the expansion of the Barbie franchise into stylized figure formats.
