Where it came from
King Candy was released by Funko as part of the original Wreck-It Ralph Pop! series in 2012, coinciding with the debut of the Walt Disney Animation Studios film. The figure, designated number 04 in the line, captures the character's ornate, candy-themed aesthetic, reflecting the film's vibrant visual homage to classic arcade culture and 8-bit gaming history.
The design draws directly from the film's character development, where King Candy serves as the ruler of the game Sugar Rush. Funko’s artistic team aimed to translate his royal attire and signature tall, conical crown into the stylized, oversized-head silhouette that defines the Pop! line. Upon release, the figure was well-received by collectors for its faithful color palette and detailed sculpt, securing its place as a staple of early Disney-themed vinyl collections.
