Where it came from
The Lady Green Snake figure, numbered 136 in the Pop! Asia series, draws its inspiration from the classic Chinese folktale The Legend of the White Snake. Released as part of Funko’s regional expansion, this figure captures the essence of Xiao Qing, the playful and loyal green snake spirit who serves as the companion to the protagonist, Bai Suzhen. The design leans into the aesthetics of traditional Chinese folklore reinterpreted through the distinctive minimalist, large-headed vinyl style that defines the Pop! brand.
The figure was produced to appeal to collectors interested in Asian cultural icons and regional mythology. Its development reflects Funko's broader strategy of diversifying its character roster to include international folklore staples alongside Western pop culture figures. Upon its release, the figure was well-received by fans of the Legend of the White Snake and niche collectors of the Pop! Asia sub-series for its thematic color palette and its faithful representation of the character's traditional cinematic and operatic depictions.
