Lapras

The Lapras Pop! figure, numbered 867 in the Pop! Games series, was released as part of Funko’s ongoing collaboration with The Pokémon Company. Lapras has long been one of the most recognizable Pokémon from the original Generation I games, prized for its gentle nature and utility as a water-type transport. This figure was designed to translate the creature's rounded, sea-faring anatomy into Funko's signature stylized aesthetic, featuring the characteristic large shell and gentle facial expression that fans associate with the character's helpful demeanor.

The design process for the Pokémon series typically involves a close partnership between Funko’s artists and the original character designers to ensure that the proportions remain consistent with the brand’s identity while adhering to the vinyl figure format. Upon release, this item was met with broad appeal, catering both to long-time collectors of the franchise and new enthusiasts who began their journey with modern iterations of the series. Its popularity reflects the enduring cultural impact of the original 151 Pokémon and the specific design language Funko employs to make these characters distinct in a crowded collectibles market.
