Where it came from
Lil' Gruesome debuted as part of the Funko Pop! Animation line in 2015, representing the character from the 1968 Hanna-Barbera animated series Wacky Races. This figure was produced to celebrate the nostalgic appeal of the show’s unique cast, specifically focusing on the pint-sized occupant of the Gruesome Twosome's Turbo Terrific vehicle.
The design draws directly from the show's aesthetic, emphasizing the character's signature hooded silhouette and mischievous expression. As part of a wave dedicated to classic animation, the figure was intended to bridge the gap between vintage television fans and modern collectors, receiving a positive reception for its faithful translation of the character's 2D cartoon appearance into a three-dimensional vinyl format.
