Where it came from
Lord Zedd was released as part of the Funko Pop! Television line to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Power Rangers franchise. Designed to capture the iconic aesthetic of the series' primary antagonist, this figure reflects the character's distinctively grotesque appearance, which famously differed from the lighter tone of the original Japanese footage used for the show. The choice of number 666 for this specific figure was a deliberate nod to the character's status as a dark, demonic entity within the show's lore.
The figure features the character's signature exposed musculature, metallic piping, and the iconic Z-staff. Funko designers aimed to balance the character's complex, horror-inspired costume with the simplified, stylized proportions standard to the Pop! aesthetic. Upon release, it was well-received by collectors who appreciated the commitment to the show's 90s camp-horror roots, standing out as one of the more detailed character designs within the broader Power Rangers anniversary collection.
