Where it came from
This Zack Taylor figure was released as part of Funko's 2018 celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers franchise. Designed in the signature Pop! aesthetic, the figure depicts the Black Ranger in his iconic suit, complete with his Power Axe weapon. It serves as a tribute to the original 1993 television series that launched the global phenomenon, capturing the nostalgic appeal of the character originally portrayed by Walter Jones.
The figure is part of the broader Pop! Television line, which focuses on stylized vinyl recreations of beloved pop culture characters. In terms of design, the item emphasizes the Power Rangers' distinct color-coded uniforms and helmets, adhering to Funko's minimalist approach to facial features. Upon its release, it was received primarily by collectors and fans of the series looking for accessible, decorative pieces to commemorate the quarter-century milestone of the Power Rangers brand.
