Where it came from
The Mace Windu Pop! figure, numbered 172 in the Star Wars line, was produced by Funko to celebrate the character's significance in the Star Wars prequel trilogy. Introduced as part of the broader Star Wars collection, this figure captures Jedi Master Mace Windu in his signature Jedi robes, specifically wielding his distinct purple-bladed lightsaber. It was designed to maintain the iconic Funko aesthetic, featuring the oversized head and stylized, simplified proportions that have defined the brand since its inception.
The design of this figure leans into the character's stoic and authoritative presence as depicted by Samuel L. Jackson in the films. By focusing on his unique lightsaber color, which was famously requested by the actor during production, the figure serves as a nod to both the character's lore and the behind-the-scenes history of the franchise. It was received as a standard addition to the Star Wars lineup, appealing to collectors seeking to complete their Jedi Council displays rather than serving as a limited-edition chase item.
