Where it came from
The Funko Pop! figure of Mace Windu, numbered 788 in the Star Wars series, was released as part of the broader Star Wars: The Clone Wars anniversary collection. It depicts the Jedi Master as he appeared in the animated series, featuring his distinct purple lightsaber and his signature Jedi robes. This iteration was designed to capture the unique, stylized aesthetic of the Lucasfilm animation style while adhering to Funko's standard minimalist vinyl figure design language.
Funko’s design philosophy for the Star Wars line typically emphasizes the most recognizable attributes of each character to translate them into their iconic big-headed, button-eyed aesthetic. The Mace Windu figure was received by collectors as a long-awaited addition to the roster, as the character had been underrepresented in the Pop! format compared to other Jedi council members. It is widely considered a staple piece for enthusiasts focusing on Prequel Era or Clone Wars-specific character collections.
