Where it came from
Released as part of the Funko Pop! Movies line in 2014, this figure commemorates the iconic protagonist Marty McFly from the 1985 classic Back to the Future. The figure depicts Marty in his signature red vest and denim jacket ensemble, with the specific 'Plutonium Glow in the Dark' variant designed as a chase-style incentive or limited edition promotional item to highlight the film's central plot device.
The aesthetic follows Funko’s signature stylized design language, characterized by a large square head, oversized eyes, and a compact vinyl body. While the design aims to capture the essence of the character rather than realistic proportions, the glow-in-the-dark feature was intended to evoke the radioactive green hue of the plutonium canister seen in the film's opening sequence, proving popular among collectors looking for unique variations of core cinematic characters.
