Where it came from
Maximillian was released as part of the Funko Pop! Disney series, assigned the number 315 within the line. This figure depicts the iconic, silent antagonist robot from the 1979 science fiction film The Black Hole, a production notable for being one of Disney’s first major attempts to capture the darker, more mature aesthetic of the post-Star Wars space opera era.
The figure design mirrors the character's distinctively menacing appearance, characterized by its deep red hue, spinning blades, and hovering stance. Funko’s artists aimed to translate the industrial, gothic-mechanical look of the original cinematic prop into their signature stylized vinyl aesthetic, providing fans of the cult-classic film a tangible piece of memorabilia from a production that remains a unique chapter in Disney’s history.
