Mushu (Gold) & Cricket

Released as part of the Funko Pop! Disney series, this vinyl figure commemorates the 1998 animated classic Mulan. The figure depicts the spirited guardian dragon Mushu alongside his companion, Cri-Kee, captured in a specialized gold-toned finish intended to distinguish it as a chase or limited variant within the broader Pop! collection. These stylized figures were designed to capture the essence of iconic characters through the signature oversized head and minimal detail aesthetic that characterizes the Funko brand.

The character design was inspired by the traditional Chinese-style dragon archetype reimagined for the film, emphasizing Mushu’s expressive and comedic personality. While the standard version of this figure number 167 remains a staple for fans of the Disney renaissance era, the gold variant was produced for collectors seeking exclusive iterations. The design process for these figures focuses on balancing recognizable character traits with the uniform physical constraints of the Pop! silhouette, resulting in a piece that functions as both a nostalgic keepsake and a collectible object.
