Where it came from
Nigel Thornberry, the beloved and eccentric patriarch from the 1990s Nickelodeon series The Wild Thornberrys, was immortalized as a Funko Pop! figure under the Animation banner, designated as number 508. The figure was released to capture the show's cult following and the nostalgic appeal of 90s animated television, reflecting Nigel's signature appearance with his oversized spectacles, khaki explorer gear, and wildly expressive, buck-toothed grin.
The design process focused on translating the show's distinctively sharp and angular art style into the standardized Pop! aesthetic. By emphasizing his exaggerated facial features and iconic beige safari outfit, the figure served as a faithful tribute to the character's role as a passionate wildlife documentarian. Upon its release, it was well-received by fans of the series who valued the opportunity to own a tangible piece of the show's quirky legacy.
