Where it came from
Nobara Kugisaki, numbered 1647 in the Pop! Animation line, was released by Funko to commemorate the character from the globally popular anime and manga franchise Jujutsu Kaisen. The figure captures the character's signature look from the series, featuring her standard Tokyo Jujutsu High uniform and her iconic straw doll weapon. It reflects the design philosophy of the Pop! brand, which distills complex anime character designs into a stylized, uniform aesthetic characterized by oversized heads and simplified facial features.
The figure is part of a broader Funko expansion into the shonen anime market, catering to the surge in international interest in Jujutsu Kaisen following the success of its television adaptation by MAPPA. Designers at Funko focused on incorporating specific character markers, such as her hammer and nails, to ensure the piece felt authentic to fans of the source material. As with many figures in the Animation series, it was received as a accessible entry-level collectible for enthusiasts looking to showcase their appreciation for the series' breakout heroine.
