Where it came from
The Original Periwinkle Pop! figure, numbered 1854 in the Pop! Television series, was produced by Funko to coincide with the expansion of the Stephen King IT universe via the prequel series Welcome to Derry. As a character design derived from the iconic lore surrounding Pennywise and the eerie aesthetic of Derry, Maine, the figure aims to capture the unsettling atmosphere of the franchise through Funko's signature stylized vinyl format.
The design process focused on translating the specific, grotesque details of the onscreen character into the simplified, oversized-head aesthetic characteristic of the Pop! line. Released as part of the broader promotional push for the series, the figure is intended for fans of horror-themed collectibles, emphasizing the show's dark, period-specific production design through its particular color palette and character expression.
