Where it came from
Overhaul, also known as Kai Chisaki, was released as figure number 1012 in the Funko Pop! Animation line, drawing from the popular anime series My Hero Academia. The figure captures the character in his signature plague doctor-inspired aesthetic, reflecting his role as the leader of the Shie Hassaikai and a primary antagonist during the series' fourth season. His design emphasizes the clinical, unsettling nature of his quirk, which allows him to deconstruct and reconstruct matter with his touch.
The figure was produced to satisfy the demand for villains within the My Hero Academia Funko range, which typically focuses on the students of Class 1-A. Funko's design team focused on replicating the character's unique mask and layered combat attire, utilizing the standard vinyl mold to maintain stylistic consistency with the rest of the collection. Upon release, it was well-received by fans of the series who appreciated the inclusion of a central antagonist beyond the recurring League of Villains members.
