Where it came from
Penny is a central character from the 1983 animated series Inspector Gadget, created by Andy Heyward, Jean Chalopin, and Bruno Bianchi. As the true mastermind behind Gadget's successful missions, Penny became an iconic figure in 1980s television for her resourcefulness and her signature computer book. This Funko Pop! figure captures her classic appearance, reflecting the nostalgic appeal that the series continues to hold for generations of viewers.
This figure was released as part of the Pop! Animation line, numbered 894, to coincide with the broader revival of interest in classic cartoons through modern collectibles. Funko designers prioritized the character's recognizable outfit and her ever-present technological accessories, aiming to distill the essence of the 1980s aesthetic into their signature stylized form. It was received as a welcomed addition for fans of the franchise who sought to pair the character with the Inspector Gadget figure.
