Where it came from
Penny Blake, the zombified daughter of the Governor, was released as part of the Pop! Television line by Funko in 2013 to coincide with the third season of AMC's The Walking Dead. Designed in the classic Funko aesthetic with an oversized head and simplified features, the figure depicts her in her distinctive restrained state, capturing a pivotal and unsettling character moment from the series.
The figure reflects the broader expansion of the Pop! line during its rapid growth in the early 2010s, focusing on bringing iconic horror and cult television characters to a broader collecting audience. While some collectors noted the figure's gruesome subject matter, it became a significant piece for fans of the franchise, illustrating Funko's strategy of deep-cut character selection to complete the ensemble cast of long-running shows.
