Where it came from
Released as part of the Funko Pop! Movies line, this figure depicts Pennywise the Dancing Clown from the 2017 film adaptation of Stephen King's 'It'. This specific variant, numbered 812, captures the character during his 'deadlights' state, a manifestation of his true, ancient, and cosmic form from the novel’s lore. It was designed to appeal to horror collectors who appreciate the blend of the character's iconic cinematic aesthetic with the supernatural elements of the source material.
Funko’s design team utilized their standard vinyl aesthetic to translate the unsettling, high-contrast makeup and costume details of Bill Skarsgård’s portrayal into a collectible form. The figure was met with significant popularity within the 'It' merchandise line, reflecting the massive box-office success of the film series. It stands as a notable example of how the company balances mass-market accessibility with specific character moments that resonate with fans of the genre.
