Porg

The Porg Pop! figure, numbered 198, was released by Funko in 2017 to coincide with the theatrical debut of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Porgs were designed for the film as indigenous creatures of the planet Ahch-To, intended to serve as a whimsical, visually appealing presence to balance the more somber tone of Luke Skywalker's exile. The character design relied on a blend of practical puppetry and digital animation, drawing stylistic inspiration from puffins native to the Irish island of Skellig Michael, where the film’s scenes were shot.

Funko’s stylized interpretation for their Pop! line retains the oversized head and black, button-like eyes characteristic of the brand, while emphasizing the creature's rounded, bird-like anatomy. Upon the film's release, the Porg became a cultural touchstone and a central figure in the merchandise rollout. The figure was received as a standard entry in the broader Star Wars collection, quickly becoming a symbol of the franchise's shift toward incorporating high-merchandisability creatures that appeal to a wide demographic of collectors.
