Red Hulk

The Red Hulk Pop! figure, numbered 854 within the Marvel series, was released by Funko to celebrate the character's enduring presence in the Marvel Comics mythos. General Thaddeus 'Thunderbolt' Ross first debuted as the Red Hulk in 2008, created by writer Jeph Loeb and artist Ed McGuinness. This character emerged during a period when Marvel sought to introduce a more volatile, tactical, and militarily-trained antagonist to challenge the traditional Green Hulk, serving as a darker reflection of the original gamma-irradiated hero.

The design of this Pop! figure draws inspiration from the signature aesthetic established during the character's initial comic run, characterized by his distinct crimson skin, slicked-back hair, and tactical combat trousers. Funko designers aimed to capture his hulking, muscular frame within their iconic stylized silhouette, ensuring he stood out as a formidable addition to the Marvel collection. Upon its release, the figure was met with steady interest from collectors who specifically sought to complete their 'Hulk' character subsets, cementing its place as a staple of the broader Marvel line.
