Where it came from
The Redberry Sour Patch Kid figure was released as part of the Pop! Candy line, a series designed by Funko to bridge the gap between their signature vinyl collectibles and iconic confectionery brands. Developed to capitalize on the nostalgia and vibrant aesthetic of the Sour Patch Kids mascot, the figure captures the character's mischievous expression and distinct silhouette in a stylized format consistent with Funko's broader design language.
The character design was crafted to mirror the original Sour Patch Kid mascot, focusing on its simple, humanoid form and signature red hue. As the inaugural release in the Pop! Candy series, it was intended to serve as a playful crossover collectible for fans of both pop culture merchandise and the long-standing candy brand. Upon its launch, the figure was well-received by collectors who gravitate toward food-themed branding and character-based vinyl toys.
