Where it came from
Regina Mills, the central antagonist and occasional protagonist of the ABC fantasy series Once Upon a Time, was released as part of the Funko Pop! Television line in 2015. This figure commemorates her role as the Evil Queen, capturing her signature sharp silhouette and regal, dark-toned aesthetic that defined the show's early seasons. The design reflects the series' blend of classic fairy tale tropes with modern, gritty narrative sensibilities.
The figure was produced during a period of high popularity for the Funko brand, which sought to expand its reach by securing licenses for prominent network television dramas. Regina's inclusion in the Pop! lineup was intended to appeal to the show's dedicated fan base, known as 'Oncers.' The stylized vinyl rendition emphasizes her dark, polished wardrobe, aiming to distill the complex, morally ambiguous nature of the character into a compact, recognizable collectible.
