Where it came from
The Weeping Angel Pop! figure was released as part of the Pop! Television line, representing the iconic antagonists from the long-running British science fiction series Doctor Who. These creatures, first introduced in the 2007 episode Blink, are predatory statues that only move when they are not being observed, a concept that quickly solidified them as one of the show's most unsettling modern creations.
Funko designed this piece to capture the specific aesthetic of the monsters, featuring the weathered, stone-like texture and the signature pose with hands covering their eyes. The design reflects the company's trademark aesthetic of oversized heads and simplified features, which, in this instance, serves to heighten the uncanny nature of the character. The figure was well-received by fans of the series who valued the transition of the show's complex practical effects into the stylized, compact format of a vinyl collectible.
