Where it came from
Reptar, the beloved, fire-breathing dinosaur from the Nickelodeon series Rugrats, was introduced as a cultural parody of Godzilla. Funko released the Reptar Pop! figure as part of the Animation line in 2017, capturing the character’s iconic oversized green form in a stylized vinyl format that resonated with the nostalgia of 1990s television audiences.
The purple variant of the Reptar figure was released as a chase edition, a common practice in the Pop! line to reward collectors with rarer, color-shifted versions of standard releases. The design maintains the characteristic Funko aesthetic—a large square head and simple features—while drawing on the distinct color palettes often found in toy tie-ins from the era of the original cartoon’s run.
