Where it came from
Released in 2018 as part of the Funko Pop! Television series, this figure commemorates the character Ricky Ricardo from the iconic 1950s sitcom I Love Lucy. The design captures the essence of the bandleader with his signature conga drum, paying homage to the musical performances that became a staple of the show's format and a recurring source of comedic tension between Lucy and Ricky.
The figure reflects the standard Funko aesthetic, distilled into the stylized vinyl form that has become a hallmark of modern pop culture collectibles. It was produced to satisfy a multi-generational fanbase, bridging the gap between the mid-century broadcast television era and the contemporary trend of character-based desk figures. As a piece within the Pop! Television line, it represents the studio's broader initiative to archive the visual history of classic American comedy through accessible, uniform design.
