Where it came from
Released as part of the Funko Pop! WWE line, figure number 121 depicts the legendary wrestler Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat. This piece commemorates his storied career, specifically highlighting his iconic ring attire from the 1980s, an era when he became one of the most beloved technical wrestlers in the industry. The design reflects Funko's signature stylized aesthetic, distilling his signature dragon-themed trunks and high-flying persona into the standard vinyl form.
The figure was produced to celebrate WWE history and the enduring legacy of athletes who defined the golden age of professional wrestling. Funko’s design team opted for a pose that suggests his agility, focusing on the vibrant color palette associated with Steamboat's wrestling gear. Upon its release, it was well-received by wrestling enthusiasts and toy collectors who valued the addition of such an influential technical performer to the expanding WWE lineup.
