Where it came from
Released as part of the Pop! Animation line, this figure immortalizes the character Roy from the Rick and Morty episode titled 'Morty's Mind Blowers'. Within the show's narrative, Roy appears inside an immersive virtual reality arcade game called 'Roy: A Life Well Lived' at the Blips and Chitz entertainment center. The figure captures the character in his quintessential yellow shirt and blue trousers, representing the existential absurdity of the simulated life Rick and Morty experience.
Funko’s design team leaned into the clean, minimalist aesthetic characteristic of the show's animation style, utilizing the standard Pop! silhouette to emphasize Roy's plain, Everyman appearance. Released in 2018, the figure became a popular entry for franchise completists, serving as a meta-commentary on the series' penchant for blending high-concept science fiction with mundane, grounded scenarios.
