Rukia

Rukia Kuchiki, a central figure from the long-running Shonen Jump series Bleach, was immortalized as Funko Pop number 60 in the Animation line. Released as part of an initial wave capturing the series' iconic Soul Reapers, the figure was designed to translate Tite Kubo’s distinct art style into the signature stylized aesthetic of Funko. By focusing on her standard shihakusho uniform and sleek, dark hair, the designers aimed to maintain her recognizable silhouette for fans of the early arcs of the anime.

The figure emerged during a period of significant expansion for the Pop! Animation category, as Funko sought to bridge the gap between Western collectibles and Japanese anime fandom. The design choice to emphasize her stoic expression reflects her role as a deuteragonist who balances stern duty with hidden warmth. While these figures were produced for the general retail market, they have since become touchstones for long-term Bleach enthusiasts who value the early iteration of the series in their collections.
