Where it came from
Saw Gerrera was released as part of the Star Wars Pop! series, bearing the number 783. The character originates from the animated series The Clone Wars and made his live-action debut in the 2016 film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, portrayed by Forest Whitaker. The figure captures his rugged appearance from the film, complete with his iconic pressurized armor and battle-worn cape, reflecting his status as a veteran insurgent who became an extremist leader against the Galactic Empire.
The design of this Pop! figure leans into the stylistic conventions of the Funko brand, which translates live-action characters into simplified, oversized-head silhouettes. As part of a larger line celebrating the vast array of Star Wars archetypes, this piece is intended for fans of the franchise who appreciate the inclusion of darker, more morally complex characters. Upon its release, it was generally welcomed by collectors as a faithful representation of the character's unique cinematic aesthetic.
