Scar

Scar is a central antagonist-turned-antihero from the anime series Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, known for his relentless pursuit of vengeance against State Alchemists. This Funko Pop! figure, numbered 1179 in the Animation series, was released to expand the line of collectibles based on the critically acclaimed 2009 series. It captures his iconic design, specifically his Ishvalan heritage, his signature sunglasses, and the intricate deconstruction transmutation circle tattooed on his right arm, which serves as his primary weapon throughout the narrative.

The design of this figure leans into Funko’s standardized aesthetic, stripping away the gritty, often violent nature of the character in favor of a clean, minimalist vinyl form. It was produced for fans who appreciate the depth of Hiromu Arakawa's original manga and the faithful adaptation provided by the Brotherhood series. Upon its release, it was generally well-received by collectors who had been waiting for more complex characters from the franchise to be represented in the Pop! format, as it successfully translates his intimidating presence into a stylized, palm-sized collectible.
